locations that promise an experience unlike any other [Music] day one [Music] Tiana welcome to torana Albania’s vibrant Capital we start our journey at torana International Airport na Teresa just a short ride from the city center you can grab a taxi hop on a bus or rent a car to get downtown in tan you’ll find a accomodations for every budget from luxury hotels to Affordable hosts all centrally [Music] located our first stop is scanderbeg square this is the Heart of the City surrounded by important landmarks like the National History Museum the opera house and the National Library the square is not just a meeting point but a gateway to the country’s history the National History Museum is right here it’s home to artifacts from across Albania’s past and the impressive Mosaic on its facade tells stories of national heroes and significant events time for a coffee break in the Boku District once a restricted area now a trendy part of town with Lively cafes and restaurants here try some local favorites like bayre and tu GOI and don’t miss out on tasting local [Music] wines Tana is known for its Cafe culture it’s more than just coffee it’s where the city’s pulse beats we’ll sit down at one of the popular spots to soak in the local Vibe a few tips as you explored greeting locals with a nod is common and carrying cash is a good idea as many places prefer it as evening Falls we’re against ottoman sieges in the 15th [Music] century inside the scanderbeg museum not only tells the story of his bravery but also offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape perfect for those panoramic shots just down the hill we stroll through the old bizaar here time seems to stand still among the Cobblestone paths lined with shops selling traditional crafts it’s the perfect place to pick up unique handmade souvenirs and chat with local Artisans about their [Music] work remember albanians May frequently talk loudly to each other or you but it is not because they are angry it’s just the way they like to express [Music] themselves next we visit the ethnographic museum housed in an 18th century ottoman style house the museum showcases traditional Albanian life with rooms full of authentic furnishings and clothing it’s a fantastic insight into the daily lives of albanians centuries ago lunch is a treat at a local restaurant known for its traditional cuisine we’ll try dishes like for Jayy and locro served with stunning views of kruja Castle as our day winds down we take a leisurely evening stroll perhaps stopping for a coffee or enjoying the Serene atmosphere as the sun stay in this historic town tomorrow promises even more Adventures but for now we soak in the history and charm of kruja day three [Music] Barat today we’re waking up in the historic town of Cru but the Adventure Continues as we set out for Barat a UNESCO world heritage site known as the city of a thousand Windows after a Scenic 2-hour drive from krui we arrive in Barat ready to explore its unique ch charm and Rich history our first stop is Barrett Castle towering above the city on a Rocky Hill this Fortress isn’t just a silent Sentinel it’s a living museum with residents churches and shops within its [Music] walls as we wander through the castle we’re treated to panoramic views of the red tiled roofs of Barat stretching out along the banks of the osum river the castle grounds are also home to the onufri museum where we Marvel at the vibrant works of onuri a renowned 16th century Albanian icon painter his masterpieces add a splash of color and Artistry that brings the past to life descending from the castle we stroll through the mongala and gica quarters these neighborhoods are famous for their distinctive ottoman architecture with with windows that seem to stare back at you each telling its own story here the streets are lined with traditional houses built close together creating a sense of community and [Music] continuity lunch is a delightful Affair as we try local dishes like PES a hearty meat and cornbread casserole and Tas Kebab a Savory Kebab stew these meals are a perfect perfect introduction to The Culinary traditions of the region as evening approaches we four [Music] Jaster good morning from Barat today we set off early for girer Caster a city known as The Stone City a UNESCO world heritage site celebrated for its authentic ottoman architecture and Rich history [Music] after a Scenic Drive of about 3 hours we arrive in this remarkable City nestled in the dro Valley our first destination is Jaster Castle an imposing Fortress that dominates the cityscape this Castle is not just a historical monument it’s a sentinel that has witnessed the EB and flow of jerich coster’s History including its strategic importance during World War II inside the castle houses an Armory turned Museum displaying a range of artifacts that tell the tale of the city’s military past and offer spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and over the stone houses that Define Jiro [Music] Caster next we wander down to the old Bazaar a cobblestone Marketplace that feels like a step back in time here local Artisans sell traditional crafts including handmade carpets and intricate silver works it’s the perfect place to pick up a souvenir that carries the essence of Jocasta nearby we explore historic homes such as the zakate house which have been preserved and opened to the public as museums these grand houses showcase the distinctive architectural style of the region with their Stone roofs and elaborate at wooden [Music] balconies lunch offers a taste of local Cuisine featuring dishes like chiy Savory rice balls seasoned with mint unique to girra Coster and a selection of regional cheeses that reflect the area’s pastoral traditions in the afternoon we visit the ethnographic Museum located in the house where Albanian dictator Enver Hawkshaw was born this Museum provides a deep dive into the traditional life of jaster’s inhabitants displaying everything from clothing and kitchen utensils to more elaborate cultural artifacts as the evening sets in we take a stroll through the city’s historic streets soaking in the atmosphere of this Timeless Place perhaps if we’re lucky we’ll catch a local cultural performance adding another layer to our understanding of this City’s vibrant cultural tapestry tonight we stay in one of jaster’s historic homes converted into boutique hotels offering us a night spent in the Ambiance of centuries [Music] past day five Seri and [Music] Butrin today we bid farewell to the Stone City of Jaster and make our way to the beautiful coastal city of Saran known for its stunning views of the ionian sea after a Scenic Drive of about an hour and a half we arrive in saranda a perfect blend of ancient history and seaside relaxation our first stop is butr National Park a site of immense archaeological significance that has been occupied since prehistoric times here we explore the well-preserved ruins that span several eras from a Greek Amphitheater to Roman baths and even a medieval castle walking through these ruins you can feel the layers of History unfold each telling a story of Brant’s past as a Greek colony a Roman city and later a Bishop Rick in Byzantine and Venetian times after immersing ourselves in ancient history we head to leesi Castle perched on a hill overlooking sarand built in the 16th century by Sultan sulan the Magnificent the castle offers panoramic views of the city below and the vast sea Beyond it’s a perfect spot for some breathtaking photos and a moment to take in the expansive views as the sun begins to set we stroll along the bustling prominade of [Music] saranda the prominade is lined with cafes and restaurants where we’ll stop to sample some of the local seafood the fresh catches from the ionian sea are not to be missed offering flavors as rich as the views we’ll also take some time to relax at one of the local beaches where the Clear Blue Waters invite us for a swim or simply to unwind by the shore tonight we stay in saranda choosing from one of the many hotels that offer stunning sea views in excellent amenities it’s the perfect place to rest after a day filled with historical exploration and seaside [Music] Leisure day six Camile [Music] Islands today we’re leaving sarande for a short 20-minute drive to the breathtaking camel Islands a jewel of the Albanian ionian Coast known for turquoise Waters and white sandy beaches cumal offers a paradise for Beach lovers and water enthusiasts alike upon arrival we’ll spend the morning exploring the main beaches and smaller secluded Coes around the [Music] islands whether you’re into snorkeling among vibrant marine life swimming in crystal clear waters or just soaking up the sun samel provides the perfect backdrop for relaxation and fun for lunch we’ll treat ourselves to some of the freshest Seafood right by the Sea local restaurants here serve up dishes like grilled octopus and seab bream paired with local wines or chilled beers all while you enjoy the sound of waves in the soothing seab Breeze in the afternoon we take a scenic drive up the coast to dermy about an hour away dermy is famed for its pristine beaches and and the stunning quality of its light which draws both tourists and artists to its shores as the day winds down we find ourselves on dermy beach just in time for one of the most spectacular sunsets you can [Music] imagine the sun dipping below the Horizon here offers a perfect moment of peace and natural beauty for those who wish the we’ll be taking the scenic coastal route which promises breathtaking views and inviting stops along the way [Music] our first major stop is in Vore a city of great historical importance to Albania here we visit the independence monument and the Museum of Independence which commemorate Albania’s declaration of independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1912 exploring Vora gives us a deeper appreciation of the country’s struggle and Triumph in shaping its Destiny for lunch we enjoy the best of Laura’s culinary offerings with a focus on Adriatic Seafood the local dishes here are fresh and
